Spending time with people (in-person) seems to open up new worlds, expand your imagination, and trigger new ideas better than anything else.

(Yup, even better than thought-provoking blog posts, podcasts, or YouTube videos)

It's all about meeting the right people at the right time.

For example, listen to @garyvee talk to @kevinrose about how he got into Web 2.0:

As much as I'd like to stay home, nearly all the advances I've made were the result of getting on an airplane and hanging out with people in-person.

You have to travel. Go to events. Get out of your hometown.

The same pattern keeps emerging in every success story I see:

It's meeting the right PEOPLE face-to-face that results in the biggest insights, gains, and opportunities.

You can't do it all from behind a computer screen. You need to meet folks IRL.
