⚡ In software, it's not enough to just "get the sale."

Your goal is utilization. You want people to USE your software and get a benefit from it.

Positive outcomes for your users leads to:
- word of mouth, reviews, case studies
- repeat customers, upgrades, expansion revenue

Anyone here know of good Ruby gems for "obscenity filtering"?

Use case: In @TransistorFM, we'd like to warn users when they have explicit words in their show notes, so Apple doesn't reject their RSS feed.

I see some really old ones on GitHub (~6 years old) but nothing new.

@jonasdowney Completely agree.

I think Apple has made some good strides here, but I'd like to see a "mindful mode" that (temporarily) removes all distracting apps and blocks all notifications.

I can't see this working.

As @nwquah posits:
"What would convince me to pay $8/mo instead of turning to the free alternatives?"

Amazing to see the progress I've made with pull-ups.

Started at the start of the year only being able to do 3 reps (max).

So difficult and awkward to do them in the beginning.

Can now do 5 sets of 5 reps.

@bryan_ogden @NikkiElizDemere I'm not talking about publishing everything publicly, but rather building relationships.

This could mean:
- Joining online communities (Slack groups, forums)
- Using DMs to keep in touch and ask for help

Too many founders practicing "rugged individualism."

They're doing everything on their own, in a silo.

The power of the web is that it lets us connect with people all over the world!

You can't do this on your own. You're going to need allies and partners.

Build relationships!

☝️ this is why I think Apple could win the streaming wars.

They could provide one subscription that gives you everything:

📺 TV
🎥 Movies
🎶 Music
🎙️ Premium podcasts
🕹️ Games?! 😮

"Most successful product people had to go through multiple attempts before they found their current, 'winning' idea."

For example, in the last 15 years, ⁦@Shpigford⁩ built over 50 products. He didn't find Baremetrics right away. https://justinjackson.ca/hard-valuable

@anthilemoon @makermag Thanks! 🙌 It's nice to have real numbers. I love being a maker, but we need to be realistic (and know what we're signing up for). 👌

"What do I do when someone on the internet gets upset with me?"

This is really sage advice from @robwalling.

I've benefitted from Rob's counsel multiple times. I really appreciate him putting stuff like this out into the world. So helpful. 👍

@alanklement In a sense, media brands have always been doing this (expanding into other channels, offering "behind the scenes" content).

But podcasts are a perfect medium for this. They're long form. Less rigid. More personal.
