What software do you use for design?

In my experience, most people (including me!) rush to validate their assumptions far too quickly.

People take action too early.

It’s ok to let ideas marinate for a long time. 👌

Other places to look:

Are they searching for answers on Google?

Are they asking for recommendations in Slack?

Are they sharing hacks and workarounds in private groups?

Are they hiring contractors and employees to get the task done?

It's hard to compete with momentum.

You could:
A) Offer potential customers a laundry list of features they've never searched for.

Or, you can:
B) Give them what they're looking for.

✅ The best kind of marketing: targeting folks who are actively looking for a solution.

❌ The worst kind of marketing: convincing people who are standing still. Trying to pull the customer over to your side.

The fallacy goes like this;

“There are a million of people in this group. Surely 1% will want what I have for sale.”

But, it’s completely possible to have access to a large group where nobody wants what you have for sale.

Don’t focus on finding a niche containing a certain number of people.

What matters more is “there’s this many people spending X on Y.”

Look for product categories with demonstrated demand, not crowds of people that might want something you have for sale.

Too often, entrepreneurs underestimate the power of inertia.

If a group of people is not already paying to solve a problem, it’s highly unlikely they’ll change.

You, likely, don’t have the energy, time, or resources to get a group who’s not spending to start spending.

I wish Apple Podcasts would do the same!
