Increasingly, it's common for people to mute/unfollow/ignore topics that make them feel uncomfortable in the name of “avoiding negativity.”

I get it. Nobody wants to consume negativity all day.

But we need to make space for exploring topics that aren't "fun."

They hit a certain cultural zeitgeist at the the right time; probably hard to replicate.

@tylertringas Some companies definitely make bigger innovative jumps than others; but innovation seems to always be cumulative (you’re building on pre-existing momentum).

@matteoist A good offer is necessary, but not sufficient.

It's strong market demand that forms the foundation for any good business.

If the demand isn't there (if customers don't want it, or aren't searching for it) it doesn't matter how good your offer is.

@WhoWorksThere We covered a lot of topics but mostly focused on the business side of running Laravel, and the SaaS apps that have come out of the ecosystem.

We also explored the maker/manager connundrum.

@pbteja1998 Idea:

1. Make a video called "Create a blog with Notion in 2022"
2. Upload it to YouTube, and optimize the thumbnail, description, add chapters, etc... (Use TubeBuddy for this)
3. Transcribe it and turn it into an awesome blog post

I’d add that to your homepage. 👍

Ask your current users what they tried before they found you, and create “alternative to” landing pages for each one.

The tweets at the bottom are ok, but you really want to create the impression that “podcasters like this use plink.”

@r00k 💯 I think I’ve done at least 50+ videos for @TransistorFM with my office as a backdrop.

I’ve also had a handful of requests from “sweet setup” type sites to show off my (currently not great) workspace.

Investing in a sweet desk setup for anyone public facing is worth it.

It's worth exploring how you might "judo" business.

If people are saying it takes 80 hours/week to build a startup, how could you "judo" your startup so that it only takes 35?

If people are saying "running a startup is stressful," how could you "judo" your startup so it's calm?

In business, don’t keep doing what’s not working!

If you keep casting and you’re not catching any fish, either:

a) you’re on the wrong spot on the river
b) this river has no fish

Try reaching your market from multiple points. If that doesn’t work, it’s time to find a new river

It’s rare, but there is such thing as pent up “latent” demand: a large group of people desire something, but they haven’t started searching for it (or don’t know how to search for it).

It’s a desire that’s felt, but doesn’t have a way to articulate itself yet.
