I’m honestly trying to give crypto a chance.

But I’m increasingly concerned that this revolution isn’t delivering on its promises of egalitarianism and security.

The argument that “this type of corruption is more easily exposed with crypto” seems overzealous.

With traditional securities, we’ve exposed insider-trading the same way: by noticing anomalies.

Wouldn’t the anonymous nature of crypto make it more disposed to corruption?

Example: it sounds like crypto folks are suggesting that the next MailChimp won’t be owned by founders exclusively, but will have shared ownership via minted coins?

I keep hearing the promise of shared ownership for creators, but I don’t see any real-life examples.

Nice! @joshuaanderton just added the ability to charge for "Sponsorships" in @meepsapp (one-time, monthly, annually).

💰 Perfect if you want to earn sponsorship revenue from your community, newsletter, Discord group, membership, or podcast!

Overall, SEO has been a consistently good channel.

In our category (as with most web hosting) affiliates work well.

Participating in communities has been helpful too (for me: Reddit, @megamaker, Twitter, Discord)

I differ with @nbashaw here:

"When dealing with a new paradigm, reason has its limits. The best strategy is to embrace curiosity, and don't worry too much."

There are apps for iPhone (like Camo from Reincubate) that do this; but I don't want to have to plug my iPhone into my computer, and set it up on a tripod, each time.

I like a camera that's permanently set up. I just click "on" and I'm on.

You’d expect the official Litecoin account to know what was going on?

You’d expect them to check internally first? “Hey, do we really have a partnership with Walmart?”

@louisnicholls_ @TylerMKing In one way, you *want* to focus on survivorship bias when studying SaaS.

You're looking for the characteristics of the SaaS that "made it."

If we include "all founders who start a company" the data isn't going to be helpful either (so many reasons for a business not to work)

If MailChimp's revenue was $800 million/year, that's a 15x valuation.

ConvertKit's revenue is $29 million/year; so that's a $435 million valuation?

But, at least the major media outlets correct themselves.

@MoreWillie @litecoin Even more worrisome: doesn't this case exemplify a huge risk for crypto?

These short-sell scams are particularly well-suite for crypto, where the price can fluctuate rapidly.

Scammers will continue to find any holes they can (whether it's Elon's account, @litecoin, etc)

That Litecoin account still hasn’t posted an update.

How is fixing a mistake (right away) make “bad?”

Before targeting the media, I’d criticize (in this order):

- the Litecoin team
- @litecoin
- GlobeNewswire
- Twitter verification
