It's wild to look back at these big "frothy" investments into podcasting:

"When it first launched in 2019 with $100 million in backing, Luminary set out to create a premium audio space." – @ashleyrcarman, @business

$100 million?! 🤯

With pricing, the competitive environment you're in matters quite a bit.

If every product in your category is priced at $49-$99/month, it will be difficult (especially as a newcomer) to charge $299/month.

@nathanbarry's initial pricing strategy with @convertkit was to be "10%…

"Good advice at the wrong time is bad advice." – @JamesClear

This is especially true when it comes to pricing advice.

"Raise your prices" can be the right advice, but it depends on many factors.

@asmartbear recently refined his advice on pricing by saying:

It's definitely snappy. Pretty simple right now. The fact that it's iOS only is somewhat limiting.

When it comes to building a new business, I like @richardbranson's approach:

Tweets, FB posts, TikTok are designed to evoke emotions and reactions from us.

Nuance is boring. Having a genuine, deep, contextual understanding on a topic is difficult (and often, boring).

It’s easier for our brains to reflexively react, than to really ponder a topic.

It’s healthy to critique ideas, concepts, practices, technology, and beliefs.

We (as a society) can learn to be less dogmatic about our sacred beliefs: to approach difficult problems with humility, be open to genuine knowledge about a topic, and keen to understand the nuance.

One of the hardest things to get right in business is the effort-to-results ratio.

Often we get stuck in a business that requires a high amount of effort for minimal results.

It’s tempting to “stick with it” (because the business is generating some revenue).

But invariably,…
