@JordanGal BTW - I'm not sure if my goal is to "make more." (At least now currently) I'm simply trying to "make enough."

If Jon and I can get to $50k MRR, and run a nice little company, I'll be happy.

@r00k @asmartbear Yes!

I'm still curious about how people quantify that 10x value though, especially when there's not a direct correlation between: "we invest $10, and get $100 back."

Just finished an interview with @taylorotwell for Tuesday's episode.

I already knew a bunch of the Laravel story, but hearing about it all in one go (in-depth) really blew my mind. 🤯

I don't know how digital nomads do it.

@earthlingworks @SDMattG @garrettdimon True. You folks are definitely having a different experience.

But it feels like answering incoming messages, requests, billing fixes, bug reports, DMs, and sales questions is the norm for many SaaS founders. 😉

This is the 3rd SaaS I've worked for. All 3 had lots of inbound.

@SDMattG @earthlingworks @garrettdimon Again, good for you folks. 😜

In the past, I have seen higher price point correlate with fewer support requests, but it's not true in every situation.

Regardless, this is the market I'm in, so I've got to deal with my reality: quite a bit of inbound.

However, there’s no greater reward than seeing folks have success with what you’ve built. 👍

I start answering support email when I get up at 7am.

It’s almost 11pm and I just answered four more live chat tickets.

I also write/update help docs 2-3 times per day.

This week I’ve created two public tutorial videos (and probably 3-5 more help videos for individuals).

I love helping our customers, so I’m happy to do it. 👍

But...

This isn’t for everyone.

In the beginning it’s up to the founder to make the experience great.

If you don’t like answering ~10-30 support requests a day, don’t bootstrap a SaaS!

If you’re wondering what it’s like to be a new SaaS founder:

Most of it is doing customer support!

☀️ Wake up in the morning: answer email.
👨‍💻 Get to the office: reply to live chat.
🛌 Before I go to bed: solve a problem.

I'm nodding my head in agreement with @nwquah here.

My take is premium podcasts will work for Spotify because they have:

- a bundled offering (music + free podcasts + premium podcasts)
- 96 million subscribers already paying

But it won't work for Luminary, Brew, etc...
