@fortelabs In Canada, I feel like “Quebec culture” still has a really strong impact:

- most English schools offer French
- many schools in English Canada offer full French immersion
- many of our politicians (Trudeau) are from Quebec and/or French speaking
- Every restaurant sells poutine

Analysts seem unimpressed with Spotify’s foray into podcasting (it hasn’t driven significantly more business for them).

@Podnews I’m still not convinced there’s enough demand for premium podcasts to necessitate a separate paid service.

It worked for Spotify because folks were already paying for music (the premium podcasts were a bonus).

It’s nice to know, whatever stage you’re at, that your family will still be able to see a doctor.

I can’t speak for all Canadian tech entrepreneurs (@wesbos, @adamwathan, @steveschoger, @pjrvs, @JackEllis, @mariepoulin, @danmartell, @tobi, @jevon, @MikeMcDerment, @sol_orwell) but it sure is easier to start a company when you don’t have to worry about healthcare.

They did best with CDs.
Pretty good with iTunes.
Worst with Spotify.

(And now are doing “ok” with vinyl sales)
