@Shpigford How do we solve respectful disagreements?

If both parties are willing to say they might be wrong, what source of truth can we go to to figure out who is right?

@campedersen Happy to chat about that on Twitter Spaces/voice if you want to have a calm discussion.

I think it's OK to critique tech that has the potential to negatively affect our planet.

What's not OK is non-makers (people who don't build things) criticizing the indies who do.

The web is the perfect place for people to channel their own insecurity into critique, drive-by comments, and snarky tweets.

@bpratdesaba Tailwind is completely suitable for production web apps.

There are tons apps who have had it in production for 2+ years now.

We couldnโ€™t have built Transistor without it.

We as men, need to recognize:

- If our behavior makes women feel unsafe, it is not safe behavior.
- We need to understand the daily experience of women (harassment, fear, etc) and be vigilant about our own behavior and the behavior of other men.

@PaulJMorel @TransistorFM Hey Paul! Yes, that's by design. You can create new episodes via the API, but not new podcast feeds.

It's partly a protection mechanism so folks can't abuse it.

We're open to changes though. What's the use-case?

@tylertringas The flipside:

Not all hard problems have good payoffs.

(Put another way: payoffs aren't necessarily linearly correlated with the degree of difficulty)

I still think customer demand (especially if there is unmet demand or excess demand) is probably a better signal.

@r00k @tylertringas A few critiques of PG here.๐Ÿ˜‰

1. "Schlep" is in the eye of the beholder.
2. Aren't we all schleps compared to the Collison brothers?

But this feels true:

"Don't seek out unpleasant work per se, but don't shrink from it if it's on the path to something great."

One way to maybe frame this: do you want a โ€œlightweightโ€ or a โ€œheavyweightโ€ business?

Heavyweight businesses have more moving parts, need more people, and (often) have the potential to get big.

Lightweights are simpler, smaller, and less complex.

New poll: which would you prefer?

- A company with you and a co-founder, $2 million revenue
- Solo-founder of a company with 20 employees, $10 million revenue

Assuming you, the founder, get paid the same (let's say $250k), which would you prefer?

- A company with millions in revenue, but requires a team of 20 people.
- A company that requires only yourself.

(Assuming other costs are relatively similar)

Some folks (@adii, @nathanbarry, @spencerfry) are motivated by building teams. If that's you, do it!

And, sometimes, there's a direct correlation between "more people, more profit." If the case for your product, hire!

But revenue doesn't always scale that way; so be careful.

Scenario 2: $500k in annual revenue

- 3 employees, earning $70K each
- CAC: $35k
- Hosting: $10k
- Misc: $10k

What's left for the founder? $235k!

(The costs needed to get you to your revenue number matter)

What kind of business do you want to start?

For example, "$500k in revenue" looks a lot different depending on:

- How complicated and stressful your life is as a founder
- How many employees and other costs you have
- How much you pay yourself as a founder

Margin matters!
