@alphacolin Was part of the mistake showing pricing in this way? (Is it better to hide pricing and get them to contact you?)

@jhooks Hahaha. That driveway looks like a lot of strongly-worded letters in your mailbox. 📬😅

@asmartbear Folks often look at pairing back subscriptions in a recession (or look to save money on subscriptions).

Raising prices now could increase churn.

Most SaaS would rather have the LTV than short-term bump in revenue I think.

@ScottTruhlar @JimminyJilickrz Except I lived for decades not valuing money (grew up on a commune, did social work for 10 years, etc).

This isn’t about materialism or the hedonic treadmill: it’s about having the resources to take care of yourself and the people you love.

@JohannBeukes Yup. The trope is overly simplistic in a variety of ways:

$75k in 2010 ≠ $75k in 2022
$75k NYC ≠ $75k in Boise, ID
$75k for family of 1 ≠ $75k family of 4

@AndrewWHacks 🎯 Exactly this.

For most people "more money = more space and opportunity to have the life they want."

@PrestwichMckay Yup. Exactly. The trope is overly simplistic on a variety of fronts:

$75k in 2010 ≠ $75k in 2022
$75k NYC ≠ $75k in Boise, ID
$75k for family of 1 ≠ $75k family of 4

Meeting interesting people in high-leverage fields is especially potent.

@thefirejar I’m just realizing this! I’ve always thought I’d externalities as inherently negative costs imposed on society by businesses.

@nyseans @elonmusk @shl I think I was stronger than “grow up.”

Elon’s behavior is arrogant, feckless, distracted, and (ultimately) destructive.

He’s not someone we should admire or emulate.

@marcoarment hey, we just noticed the Ping API and we're starting to use it for our @TransistorFM customers.

Throttling seems aggressive though, what would you suggest for our limits?

Social media can be unhealthy (in general, and for productivity) but so can toxic relationships, alcohol consumption, lack of exercise, etc…

Other times, it’s nice to have something external (music, podcast) that stimulates thought.

@mattwensing @earthlingworks New categories emerge from a combination of factors:

pre-existing demand for earlier versions (flip phones, PDAs), cultural trends, etc.

My point is that a new category is rarely defined by a single company/founder. They evolve (over time) from a variety of influences.
