I highly recommend @sherrywalling’s book for any human who has experienced loss, sadness, ache, mourning, hurt, or grief.

@jmckinven @TransistorFM I think so.

It’s a bit of work, but it looks great on the website, and it will also syndicate through your RSS feed to any apps that support the <podcast:person> tag.

@photomatt Side note: as someone who’s paid for premium Tumblr themes, I would love it if we had the ability (again) to remove the Tumblr chrome / popups from our website.

This used to be possible, but it’s not anymore.

Half the company does have the Queen on their money. 😉

@JamesCridland @Podnews Yes!

Thinking through what a (realistic) healthy cadence looks like is important

Your format delivers a ton of value; I'm glad you've figured out a healthy workflow for it!

(Compare that to the effort required to produce a daily vlog which I've seen tons of people burn out on)

@schlaf I'm more referencing the overdemanding cadence/schedule creators put on themselves.

(Not the medium itself [Youtube, podcasts, newsletters])

@_brandswell A few words had an emotional response from me: “lazy”, “tense,” “engaged.”

So much of life is taking on way too much stress in order to take action

I love the distinction between “I am getting results and taking action” and “I’m stuck. I am unable to take action or get results”

@Frogman1609 great seeing you tonight! We should do a “hack on projects” night sometime. 👍

@nicolascava I feel like I take more “talking head / selfie” video, but way less “raw video.” I don’t record as much of life anymore.

@asmartbear Yes. I’ve done this blaming too!

But, instead, we should put all that energy into action: what good things can we give future generations? What awesome stuff will they inherit from us?

@Lockedown_ I’m not saying we haven’t inherited some dire problems from previous generations. (We have!)

I’m just recognizing that there were people in the past who left us some enduringly positive things.

That makes me want to do the same for future generations.

@DanielZarick Totally agree.

I just got back from a podcast conference and I’m more fired up than I’ve been in years.

Connecting with customers and partners in IRL was energizing.

@cheerfulpaige A future iteration of something like this? Yes!

We won’t know what’s possible unless we keep trying to iterate along these lines.

(Initial versions of centralized platforms, like Twitter, were also not user-friendly in their first iterations).

@taragentile 100% this.

We *do* get some benefit, but it's not clear if it's commensurate.

(Especially since many of us initially seeded these social graphs by uploading our personal contacts! 😱)

@nicksdot Aside from word of mouth, creators on the internet have always relied on centralized indexes (Web Crawler, Lycos, Altavista, Yahoo, Google) and social platforms (UseNet, forums, MySpace, Facebook).

@Levin_of_Indigo You can’t send *anyone* crypto though, can you? They need a crypto wallet.

Given gas fees, volatility, and the time it takes to complete a transfer, is it better than alternatives like e-transfers, wires?

If you want to invest in stocks, don’t you still need an intermediary?

@attaboy Honestly, this is where Tesla is winning right now.

The charging experience is really good. The built-in software automatically finds Superchargers for you, let’s you know how busy they are, and tells you how long to charge before continuing your trip.

Also, they’re fast!

@AdriSheares Any sense of “what” they’re searching for on TikTok?

For me, video makes sense for “how to fix a faucet” (yes I’m old, haha).

Do we know what kinds of searches they’re making?
