@ericvanular @jasoncwarner These days, most cities in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Quebec are actually pretty pricey.

(Especially when compared to the Midwest in the 🇺🇸)

@nbashaw I wonder if our culture has become more transparent?

Is it harder for bad behavior to stay hidden these days?

@magnus_singer @Shopify @tobi I love that you're exploring this!

I'm just seeing that the problem (the challenge) is that it's easy to find *everything* on Amazon.

To compete, independents are going to need to leverage a shared network of inventory.

2. Create something they'll pay for

This is about building a compelling product.

Software needs to be fast, intuitive, responsive. You need features that are so good, people will switch to get them.

Your app should satiate your customers' desires. "More reliable, faster."

@drewhaines3 @GeoffTRoberts @BeardAboutIt @mubashariqbal A random video from the internet, where the (unidentified) narrator makes a claim about an election worker is not *evidence*.

Trump says we can't trust the media, election workers, election commissioners, the courts, the state legislatures...

But random twitter accounts are ok?

Replying to @dvassallo
@dvassallo I don’t buy your reasoning, because Trump is plainly incorrigible and incompetent.

(They would never hire this guy to be their CEO)

When you’re voting for leader of the country, you don’t vote for the authoritarian.

(They could have abstained their vote too.)

@cforsythdev This isn’t about “another party/person.”

This is about Trump.

It’s purely about whether *he* should be the one to hold the highest office, the nuclear codes, the covid response, and the response to climate change.

@frodeknutsen That comparison doesn’t fly.

Trump stands apart from all other politicians.

He is uniquely awful, in ways that others aren’t.

There’s a scale of bad, and he breaks the scale.

@petersuhm 💯 huge observation.

The religious (specifically evangelical) culture in North America has had a huge impact on creative people here.

(And... lots of non-religious devs here started by making band websites too)

@TylerMKing @louisnicholls_ @podcastpage @TransistorFM Yup, I agree with all of this. It’s something we’re felt/identified from the beginning (the current website was originally intended only for the Good News podcast).

But building a CMS is no light task. 😅

We have to be especially careful that we don’t cause way more support.

@AngeZanetti When we started Product People in 2012, I remember thinking I was late to the game! 🤣

I think there's always room for something new, especially if you're bringing something unique & real to the table.

I've had terrible partnerships in the past as well.

But this current partnership with Jon feels incredible. (like Voltron.)

It might not last forever, but it's been an amazing experience.

@mattwensing @thisisbranch Sorry (this is probably my fault) - I wasn’t trying to make this a hit piece.

Folks wanted to know which parts I disagreed with, so I was just talking that out, out loud.

I agree that not all startups need (or should have) co-founders.
