@citadelgrad I've tried most of the platforms, and @podiadotcom is my favorite so far. Perfect for digital downloads. Great for courses. And, good option for monthly memberships.

Example: my friend @amcwilliam (in #vernonbc) runs the best coffee shop in THE WORLD. (my opinion)

But he started small, with a little coffee cart.

Once he saw the incredible demand, he went out and found the perfect location for @ratiovernon. He knew he could fill those seats.

Everything should follow customer demand: form, fit, and function.

Make sure you have the demand, first, before you determine everything else.

Thinking about writing about "What raves and software have in common" in my next newsletter: https://justinjackson.ca/newsletter

(Also, check out this 90s flyer I found from my time in the #yeg rave scene)

I’m not saying Rails is going away, just that Laravel is growing faster than anything else.

You have to close the sale while it's "top of mind" for the customer.

Don't implement a 30-day sales cycle, when the customer needs to make a decision today.

Another example of a narrowly defined niche, with huge market size:

"Software devs making online shopping carts."

Stripe's early growth was fuelled by those folks!

As consumers, we're still in the honeymoon phase. We ❤️ "this moment" because we're getting access to:

- nicer restaurants
- higher quality software & hardware
- more choices in entertainment
- bigger selection & cheaper prices

But, all of this ☝️will affect workers + SMBs.

Bundles are still performing well, but well positioned "single product" deals seem to be cutting through the Black Friday noise.

Less: "I got this great bundle!"
More: "I got a great deal on *this specific thing*"

We have a propensity to self-sabotage when we compare ourselves to others.

Don't begrudge!

SERIOUSLY. Read the Jekyll troubleshooting section:

Jekyll's fine for some people.
But it's not a solution for most.

A blog shouldn't just exist until you die (when your hosting + domain expires).

If your words are valuable, they should be stored locally.

It's not always about being cheaper (although that can help).

But if a competing product helps people make more progress, they switch.

The low-end "general" market for design is too competitive (Squarespace).

You need to specialize:

"I help instructors sell more courses"
