Why should you care?

👉 If you run a SaaS, and want to give away swag, this is the best solution I’ve found.

👉 If you have a podcast, Discord community, or membership, and want to sell swag

👉 If you’re a digital creator / artist and want to sell prints, shirts, stickers, etc

This new @meepsapp feature creates a print-on-demand merch store that automatically does printing + embroidery + stickers, fulfillment, and shipping (through @Printful)

It just runs itself!

@JackEllis I think you’re going to easy on those ToS. Not even closed to “solved.”

Also, as far as I know, none of this stuff has been tested in court.

I’m just confused why you’re going so easy on Lazy Lions? Normally you’re a stickler for this kind of stuff (when it’s relate to privacy)

@JackEllis “Change those ToS slightly?”

I think you’re glossing over some major issues.

Apply the same level of scrutiny you have for privacy issues to NFTs; I think you’ll see what I’m seeing.

@ianlandsman @JackEllis NFTs are a cool idea. They’re “a proposal for how ownership could work” (@DCoulbourne).

That’s fine.

But “a concept” is a looooong way from a “sure thing” (culturally, and legally).

And, this particular execution has significant, fundamental flaws.

@JackEllis There’s a few significant differences, the largest being our current legal concept of ownership.

Owning a comic book (and transferring ownership of a comic book) is already governed by law.

NFTs are like me printing out a “certificate of ownership” for a comic you don’t own.

One of my favorite things about running the @megamaker community, is seeing folks wear the shirts and hats, all over the world!

(And especially at conferences).

This @meepsapp feature allows anyone to create an on-demand merch store for their community. 🤯

Create an automated, print-on-demand merch store for your community/membership using @Printful. 👕🧢

(Or, use it to give away swag to your startup customers)

It's not east to truly understanding what category you're in, who the customers are, what's motivating them, and what they do about it.

You really need to be immersed in it to get it.

And then, *what you do* with that information (how you apply it to your startup) is key.

@arvidkahl Intercom, like Slack, makes most of their money off Enterprise customers.

They don't mind pricing this way (and alienating small companies) because the bulk of their business is upstream.

Invariably, the founders/teams who succeed are excited about their product category & market, and curious about their customer's motivation & behavior.

Marketing is hard because there are multiple variables:

• The category of product you’re building
• The market of people who might want it
• The underlying motivation that’s causing people to search for a product like yours
• What people end up searching for in google

“I listen to podcasts when cleaning my room because they are entertaining.”

Gotta keep that room tidy! 😄

The most interesting stat for me: Spotify has really captured the 13-23 year-old demographic.

Spotify is where Gen Z listens to podcasts.

They’ve clearly “grown up” with this app! It's a part of their identity.

How much money do you think is being lost for every hour that FB, Instagram, and WhatsApp are down?

Not just from FB itself (lost ad revenue) but everyone that depends on their ecosystem?

(Restaurants, SaaS that integrate with FB, etc)
