👩‍💻 Looking for a web designer/dev who would be excited to build a podcast website template using @TransistorFM's new Liquid engine.

If you know anyone, let me know!

If that's you, reply/DM me with your portfolio/samples of your work. 👍

Really nice to spend time with him. 👍

@mikeymayers This doesn’t invalidate previous support for health mandates.

Naturally, as Omicron ebbs, folks want to see restrictions removed.

This poll didn’t explicitly ask if they didn’t support the actions that had been taken up until now.

Ending restrictions as always been the plan.

@derrickgrigg "We live in a free nation; free to be critical of elected officials."

On that, we agree!

We're also free to:

a) run for office
b) apply for jobs as public officials
c) vote at election time

Lots of actions we can take. 👍

How long would it take for those investments to bear fruit?

How would you pay for this new investment?

@derrickgrigg My guess is the problem is number of available nurses and doctors.

If you wanted to dramatically increase capacity, wouldn’t you need to dramatically increase number of nurses and doctors being trained?

How would you do that quickly?

Replying to @derrickgrigg
@derrickgrigg My understanding is that nearly every health region in the world was at risk of being overwhelmed.

China was the only country (I believe) that was able to quickly build excess capacity.

How would you quickly build capacity?

@peldi is a refreshing CEO to follow in the software space.

"I expect a flat or down year, maybe about $7.5M. Since I don’t want us to get addicted to growth, I don’t mind it. We’re making more money than we need, so it’s all good."

@derrickgrigg I think if you’re saying “officials were wrong,” you should have an alternative plan.

Very easy to criticize; much more difficult to form a cogent alternative.

@Webster_Aaron Yes. Now that Omicron is ebbing, folks are ready for restrictions to end. (Naturally!)

But support for the mandates (when they were needed) has been strong throughout the pandemic.

@derrickgrigg But what actions would you have taken, specifically?

I imagine the constraints are:

- You can't overwhelm the health system
- You can't overwhelm ICUs
- You can't grind down nurses, doctors, etc..

So what’s your plan?

@ChaseFlorell I’m not sure “fed up” is an accurate description either.😉

The mandates have had strong support. Your poll didn’t ask if they “supported the mandates up until now.”

I agree that as Omicron ebbs, folks will want restrictions relaxed (which health officials have said they’ll do)

If your point is that people don’t want indefinite mandates, I agree. That was never the plan.

@ChaseFlorell Yes, of course with omicron ebbing, the majority of folks would want restrictions to end! Nobody said these would be forever.

Health officials have already said as much. This isn’t new news.

But there’s been strong support for mandates up until now.

@derrickgrigg But is that unique to Canada?

Every health region in the world is had to deal with the same thing: a new variant that spread rapidly. Nearly every region in the world implemented similar measures to ensure health systems didn’t collapse.

We’re likely at the tail end of omicron.

@mikeymayers Mandate is defined as "an official order or commission to do something."

All of the mandates in the Ipsos poll are listed here under "Support for Pandemic Measures, by Stated Vote Intention"

Not sure why you would say some of these are mandates, and some aren't?

But Elon’s behavior and rhetoric have pushed me away.

I can’t recommend Tesla anymore, and won’t be buying any more of their vehicles unless Elon is replaced as CEO.

Today, I spoke to a college class about UX.

As a case study, I signed up for @TransistorFM as if I was a new use, and we talked about all the friction points in our current signup process.

It's clear: there are tons of things we could improve!

SaaS founders: remember to sign up for your own app (as if you were a new user).

Many of us haven't looked at our onboarding process since we launched. 😅

Experiencing your product from a new user's perspective is so important. 🤞

Better onboarding, UX, and activation can't fix a customer's underlying motivation problem.

People will even use confusing software if they "want it" bad enough. (Remember learning Photoshop?)

Good UX is necessary, but not sufficient, for a software business to succeed.
