@DCoulbourne @calebporzio Once I get you up there
Where the air is rarefied
We'll just glide
Starry-eyed
Once I get you up there
I'll be holding you so near
You may hear
Angels cheer, 'cause we're together

Come fly with me, let's fly let's fly
Pack up let's fly away

@aprildunford Tell me about it!!!!

“We’re going to need you to come into the branch to do that.”

I’ve had to go into the branch to get really basic questions answered. When I explained to the teller that I had USD and CAD checking accounts they looked at me like I was from another planet.

@aprildunford One of my biggest frustrations!

Canadian business banking is terrible in terms of:
- features
- knowledgeable service
- pricing

(Especially for entrepreneurs who deal in USD currency!)

In 1998, Chip started hearing about yoga in coffee shops, and ads posted on telephone poles.

Then, he joined a class that grew from 6 people to 30 people in a week.

Learning to recognize when momentum is building is a key skill for entrepreneurs.

Snowboarding was created by surfers and skateboarders who were searching for that same “feeling” but on snow.

@Copypastaa Kubernetes and serverless both solve problems people were already searching for.

They’re responses to scaling problems people were actively trying to solve.

(There is tons of tech that gets created, but doesn’t solve a problem folks have, and dies because of lack of demand)

I think we need to stop trying to find customers for our products and start building solutions our customers were already looking for. ☕

@louisnicholls_ The demand came from the market.

They saw the response they were getting to Steve Shoger’s tweets (market demand).

That demand lead them to create Refactoring UI, Tailwind CSS, etc

This wave has been developing for a while (Bootstrap, Bootstrapping Design, Semantic UI, etc).

This is heartbreaking. 💔

🇨🇦 healthcare isn't perfect but Matt's story wouldn't happen here:
- Avg out-of-pocket costs for folks with diabetes is $1,824.97/year.
- There's no charge for visiting an emergency room.
- There's no charge for getting surgery.

@jayclouse Yup, strategy does matter.

But it seems that the size, energy, and characteristics of the “wave” matter most.

No matter what your strategy, you can’t surf a flat wave.

I think the market you choose is the biggest multiplier, and after that it strategy that needs to kick in.

An important lesson, as seen on my weekly @usefathom analytics report:

My "Business is surfing" post is doing well – I shared it with my list of 11,589 and on Twitter.

But these other 3 articles get consistent, keyword-driven, search traffic.

Nothing beats intent-based search!
