@mastermaq Wow. Alberta (population: 4.4 million) has already tested more than 4,000 people, and the entire USA has likely not tested more than 11,000.

@alphacolin Omg! It is such a delight.

It’s a bit weird to read at first, because his writing style is unconventional, but soon you’ll be getting all of these fantastic insights into building and living well.

@matthewcrist That is really sad to hear.

It’s a difficult decision, but closing schools could save thousands of lives.

“This is worse than the flu. You want to flatten the epidemic. You don’t want a million people all getting sick in the same month. Social distancing helps decompress the demand on our medical system.” – @NAChristakis

“Only one measure has been effective against coronavirus: extreme social distancing.”

Employees should be working from home.

Schools, especially, should be closed.

Conferences should be postponed.

To celebrate @studiofellow's launch of @mod_dot today, I'm going to be doing a few live landing page teardowns.

(Mod&Dot allows you to do rapidly redesign any page, show copy edits and share ideas all in the browser.)

Have a landing page you want me to look at? Reply here!

A telling tale:

“Building a customer base from scratch is actually quite hard — and expensive. DTC companies market on Facebook. Everyone is armed with the same millions of dollars in funding and they’re all driving each other’s marketing costs up.” 💸

@derrickreimer I think it depends what role you play in your startup.

For me personally, I need some deep work time (for writing, coding), but find that most of my work is running around in short bursts.

@jonbuda, on the other hand, I think needs more deep work time.

“What are our needs for happiness? We need to walk, just as birds need to fly. We need to be around other people. We need beauty. We need contact with nature. And most of all, we need not to be excluded. We need to feel some sort of equality.” – @EnriquePenalosa

Ultimately, it’s our ability to spot good waves, paddle out to them, and ride them that will give us a chance at success.

(Quick aside: you and I certainly have a ton of privilege, which definitely provides us with an unfair advantage.)
