@twigpress Yeah, it’s ridiculous! Totally destructive for family life, and terrible for that person’s mental health (being stuck in the car all day)

@RohanKochhar I would say the market should have “enough” demand.

There should be enough pull there for you to grow a healthy company.

I've been asking for a "premium version of Twitter" for a long time, so I signed up for @TwitterBlue.

I *really* wanted to like it, but...

I'm going to cancel. Currently, it misses the mark for avid Twitter users.

@seanwes @gabesumner I need a solution like this that just *works* for Transistor customers. 😅

I think the only way to do it is to sanitize people's HTML after they've entered text in the WYSIWYG editor.

Copying and pasting from Word/Google Docs into another WYSIWYG editor is still a nightmare! 🙈

@gabesumner wrote this 10(!) years ago:

🤔 When you clean your keyboard do you turn it off (unplug it) before wiping, or do you keep it on and just YOLO it?

When I say "polished" I'm referring to the "sheen of professionalism."

Doing a presentation the "polished, professional" way (where everything is scripted, and delivered with fake enthusiasm) isn't engaging.

Be real. Show some humanity!

It’s a great time to be in your 20s now. Indie SaaS is an established “thing.” It’s way more accessible.

There’s a whole culture of young people starting companies. There’s a movement; it’s a pretty special time.

(When I turned 20, MailChimp hadn’t even been founded yet)

Shout out to all the 22 year olds with newborns and no money. I’ve been there! 😅

For me, my indie SaaS (@TransistorFM) has given me the most financial margin, the most free time, and the least amount of stress.

Again, I’m thankful, but I could have really used this about 11 years ago when I had 2 kids in diapers. 😅

The irony is: the stage of life where you could really use the flexibility + financial margin of an established indie SaaS is when you’re 25 with a newborn. 😜

(But that’s the hardest time to do anything extra, much less start a business!)

No matter your stage of life, the best advice is still: “do what you can, with what you have,” and “start now, start small.”

I didn’t really start building indie projects until I was 33 (and had 4 kids aged 3-11).

At the time I felt like I was behind; but I’m glad I started. ❤️

@chddaniel Hard to answer that, because I was a completely different person back then.

I got married young and had kids young, which dramatically effected the trajectory of my life.

I’ll always have a soft spot for young parents who are trying to start a business.

Starting a business when you have kids (especially infants!), and very little capital, is a whole other level.

It’s the “hardest hard mode;” especially for bootstrappers.

Thankful for where I am, but still occasionally jealous of all the folks in their 20s and 30s building indie SaaS companies so young. ✌️
