Some products "sound like a good idea" objectively, but are not desired subjectively.

A good idea isn't enough.
It must be desired.

In the ‘80s-’90s content was hard to get.

Now it's reversed. There's way more content than people have time for.

Democracy should:

- ensure the best ideas rise to the top
- illuminate the truth
- encourage goodwill between citizens
