@robmerki Had you already done it, or did you do it because of this campaign?

(Need to decide if I add you to the campaign goal or not)

@mynameis_davis @microacquire @robwalling Yup.

(That's why I said, "It depends on growth and how strategic a target is.")

But strategic acquisitions are quite rare. The most likely outcome for a bootstrapped SaaS is a private equity firm buying them for 2x-8x ARR.

@mynameis_davis @microacquire @robwalling It all depends on growth and how strategic a target is.

But I’ve seen very high multiples when MRR is low ($6k ARR selling for 20x)

Once you cross over $1 million ARR, the most common range seems to be 2X-8X.

(Example: Baremetrics sold for ~2.65x ARR)

@earthlingworks 🎯 So many different dynamics at play in every category.

It’s interesting to see how the same customer can have one mindset (regarding pricing) in a certain market, but a completely different mindset when it comes to buying a different product.

Lots of nuance.

@SloanCam @PierreDeWulf If you’re offering lower prices, you want a product that’s incredibly simple to install. (Requiring a dev to install code snippets will substantially slow sales).

If your product takes quite a bit of hand holding to get installed, I would charge higher prices.

@ianlandsman For sure when we sell our companies people will be like:

"Ian who?"

"Justin Jackson the football player?"

@GoPodfriend @mattwensing And that’s what I mean: RSS is holding the balance of power.

Most podcast creators want the biggest audience possible. That means reaching people on Apple, FB, Spotify, Google, @pocketcasts, @PodcastAddict, etc.

The only protocol that can power that (currently) is RSS.

@KrisColvin The kids just love it. They can spend hours in the pool, every day.

And once they’re old enough to swim on their own, the parents can just sit and relax. 🙏

I find it the most relaxing.

@bsierakowski @r00k For me, my coworking community (@CoWorkVernon) is a group of folks, all working for different companies, in different disciplines. The diversity is wonderful.

Plus: there is no power differential, no workplace drama, no politics. We’re all peers.

It’s a freeing way to work.

@r00k It definitely checks the “I want to work around folks I like” box. ✅

I’d love to work locally with @jonbuda too, but having a remote company has given us (and our two contractors) tons of personal freedom.

@graemeblake @RikNieu For income tax purposes. Personal income tax is way higher than Corp taxes.

If I don’t need the money (personally) it makes more sense to keep it in the business (the business can invest the cash so it’s not just sitting there).

@jacobmparis Yup. I’m just saying the banks/insurers should reassess how they think about risk. 😉

Verified subscription revenue (for an entrepreneur) is far more dependable than a paycheque.

Consistent MRR > Paystubs

@GeoffTRoberts 💯 it's valuable.

Since starting @megamaker in 2013, it's the most requested feature:

"How can I find someone who's good at Rails?"
"How can I get a list of everyone's Twitter handle?"
"How can I see what everyone's working on?"

I used our new @meepsapp directory yesterday!

@mjwhansen It's also put me in a totally different frame of mind when chatting with customers.

Instead of quickly dismissing their problems, or being impatient with them, I'm learning to see them like this:

"understanding that their decisions and actions make sense from their perspective"
