Doing meaningful work is one way that @TransistorFM has made our lives better.

But it’s given us so much more.

@gilbert articulated similar feelings to me when describing what his work at @AcquiredFM has brought him:

“The life that I enjoy is because of what we’ve built.”

Business update: @jonbuda and I have now been running @TransistorFM for 6 years!

(That's wild because, in my head, it only feels like 3).

I love our team. I love serving podcasters. I love our product. This is the best job I've ever had.

I feel incredibly grateful.

@paleochef This. I just want to go hang out with people in real life: share some meals, go on walks, hang out in living rooms, listen to music, go on road trips, sit in coffee shops and talk, visit a new city with people, hang out on a beach, hang out at the ski hill, go on some retreats…

Lots of storage. It automatically backs up what's on our phones.

The AI search is very good.

"ChatGPT" is what people search, log into, pay for, etc...

Launching a new brand (as Elon learned with X) is very difficult, especially when the established brand has the cache and reach that ChatGPT has right now.

Does Microsoft have a contract clause that covers this scenario?

If OpenAI shuts down, ChatGPT is still the most recognizable AI brand (with a massive user base).

Microsoft gaining Sam and a bunch of OpenAI employees is a win, but losing the ChatGPT brand, app, and user base…

@ChanningAllen @adamwathan Nice! I also like that it's a bit more gentle on my body.

I can gradually "ramp up" and do more and more intensity each day, but it's a nice gradual climb.

@mjwhansen @arvidkahl It sounds like you’ve missed similar things to @arvidkahl, but moving the other direction! (US —> Europe).

It seems where we grow up and have our formative years (school, college) really leaves its mark on us.

Also: good point about the urban —> rural move. That’s its own form…

If you have a growing family, renting isn’t practical in much of North America.

In my town, the overall vacancy rate for rentals is less than 1% (and that’s for all units - including 1 bedroom apartments).

The problem is most places in North America is you couldn’t find a…

@mattwensing We definitely survived, but (in Canada, at least) surviving on $36k with a family of 3 was tough.

After taxes, we had about $2,000 monthly for rent, one car, food, diapers, clothing, student loan payments, etc.

Today, $2k wouldn't even come close to covering my mortgage. 😅

@housecor Agreed. Love the ability to walk up to the car to unlock, and having it lock when I walk away.

Whenever I’m in a regular vehicle now I often forget to lock my doors (or I walk up and try to open the door, only to find it locked)
