Highlights:

▪Hiring a photographer to take photos of the team

Doing meaningful work is one way that @TransistorFM has made our lives better.

But it’s given us so much more.

@gilbert articulated similar feelings to me when describing what his work at @AcquiredFM has brought him:

“The life that I enjoy is because of what we’ve built.”

@jonbuda @TransistorFM @jsonperl @HelenRyles @joshuaanderton Since 2021, I think @jonbuda and I have been searching for new goals to motivate us.

Some people get motivated by growth, the thought of being acquired, or hiring hundreds of people.

But that's not really us.

We achieved that in 2019:

Business update: @jonbuda and I have now been running @TransistorFM for 6 years!

(That's wild because, in my head, it only feels like 3).

I love our team. I love serving podcasters. I love our product. This is the best job I've ever had.

I feel incredibly grateful.

@paleochef This. I just want to go hang out with people in real life: share some meals, go on walks, hang out in living rooms, listen to music, go on road trips, sit in coffee shops and talk, visit a new city with people, hang out on a beach, hang out at the ski hill, go on some retreats…

Launching a new brand (as Elon learned with X) is very difficult, especially when the established brand has the cache and reach that ChatGPT has right now.

Does Microsoft have a contract clause that covers this scenario?

If OpenAI shuts down, ChatGPT is still the most recognizable AI brand (with a massive user base).

Microsoft gaining Sam and a bunch of OpenAI employees is a win, but losing the ChatGPT brand, app, and user base…

(Which is why we've invested so much in this post: https://transistor.fm/how-to-start-a-podcast/)

Often Prosumers will start a podcast for fun, and then get asked to do one for their company.

@mattwensing We definitely survived, but (in Canada, at least) surviving on $36k with a family of 3 was tough.

After taxes, we had about $2,000 monthly for rent, one car, food, diapers, clothing, student loan payments, etc.

Today, $2k wouldn't even come close to covering my mortgage. 😅

@housecor Agreed. Love the ability to walk up to the car to unlock, and having it lock when I walk away.

Whenever I’m in a regular vehicle now I often forget to lock my doors (or I walk up and try to open the door, only to find it locked)
