Notice that Elon isn't blocking traffic to Tumblr, Reddit, or Truth Social.

(All of which contain a multitude of malicious, spammy links and violent content)

There's no legitimate policy here; Elon is just mad.

Now on Twitter, when you click any old links to Mastodon, they label it as “unsafe.”

Also, Twitter won’t let you post any new links to any Mastodon instance.

Total bullshit.

I was feeling totally overwhelmed about this marketing challenge we're having at Transistor, so I decided to write a newsletter about it:

https://justinjackson.ck.page/posts/justin-s-problem

(felt good to write it out)

If you've faced a similar challenge, I'd love to hear how you solved it. 👍

Watching @photomatt's "State of the Word 2022" and learned about @WPOpenverse.

They scour the web for high-quality free music audio tracks that podcasters can use for their intro music.

We'll definitely be sharing this with our @TransistorFM users. 👍

🎙️ Podcast idea:

Use a tool like @answerthepublic to find podcast topics people are searching for ("best podcast for...").

"Best podcast for camping"
"Best podcast for anxiety"

Pick the topic you're interested in, and start recording episodes.

Use @TransistorFM to host it!

💰 Money-making idea: affiliate programs.

I've seen bloggers, podcasters, and YouTubers earn good money as affiliates.

SaaS affiliate programs can be particularly lucrative (some affiliates for Transistor have earned up to $9k/month!)

✍️ Blog ideas:

Choose a hobby you're passionate about (skiing, photography, recording music) and write how-to blog posts on that topic:

"How to set up a small home recording studio."
"The best powder skis for the Rockies"

Try to rank for those queries on Google.

In science, opposing viewpoints and critiques are encouraged. Questioning other people's work publicly is seen as an important part of the process.

We need this same kind of rigor in tech, especially because the things we create have the ability to move/change entire societies.

As remote workers, we can live anywhere. We're often drawn to towns with unique character, culture, and charm.

Most of that character is provided by Main Street cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and shops.

The unique patina of our cities won't survive unless we support it. ✊

Again, the GPT3 model wasn't designed to provide accurate medical advice.

In the past, the GPT3 model has made "dangerous oversimplifications" when it comes to health:

Self-diagnosis is already a problem on the internet; I hope GPT doesn't make it worse.

@olivi_eh I'm not sure there's *a* solution.

Better urban design, transit funding, and fundamental changes are all needed.

But moving an entire global society is difficult, takes time, and has nuance.

I think EVs are a small part of the solution.

@SamuelHulick 👋 former Christian minister here, now an atheist. (I can't claim to represent either group 😅)

For Christians, much of God's desire for his creation is ascribed to his nature. Believers have faith in God's revealed nature ("I AM WHO I AM"), which includes trusting his motives.

Maybe a better way to put this is that “people are seeking the best version of that thing *for them* at this moment.”

They’re searching for CRM software, because they’re tired of using what they have.

They’re looking for a way to do X, because their current app doesn’t do it.
