@asmartbear I’ve been thinking for a while that there a multiple levels of Jobs to be Done:

There’s the surface level utility of a thing, and then there’s the deeper (emotional) motivation.

Nice to clarify things.

You have a remarkable sense of boundaries!

I’ve met tons of other people for whom “as much effort as possible” means sacrificing lots of things on the home front (not just sleep and TV).

If you can make it work, all the power to you! 🙌

@jeffgardnerdev Thanks for listening!

I think what @aarondfrancis is describing is “maximum gated effort.”

True “maximum effort” on a business has no upper limit: there’s always more time, energy, and focus you can give.

For me, in practice, it was difficult to not be constantly thinking…

This is the best time to listen to @leenyburger and @aarondfrancis’ podcast: they’re right at the most compelling part of their bootstrapped journey.

(And they have a great interpersonal dynamic)

You’ll get tons of energy just listening to this episode:

Tried a few times, but couldn't figure it out.

pretty simple: `$crisp.push(['do', 'chat:open'])`

If your SaaS targets prosumers, you'll need a reasonably high number of daily signups to outrun churn (and grow net revenue).

Prosumer customers are, by their nature, not going to stick around as long as B2B customers might.

Here's an example from ConvertKit's open numbers:

@r00k For me, Tuple feels like the "always on intercom system" for @TransistorFM's team.

Jumping on a Tuple call feels instant and seamless (as opposed to Zoom).

We use it for more than just pair programming calls too!

(@jonbuda and I frequently use it for accounting meetings. 😄)

I would contact your Certificate Authority right away and figure out why they revoked your SSL certificate.

I just found this ChatGPT utility that will split long text files (blog posts, podcast transcripts, etc) into multiple prompts so you don't get the "message too long" error.

Super helpful. 👍

Sometimes, reducing friction for the consumer isn't beneficial: for example, making it easier for people to consume junk food.

Social media has probably made it too easy for folks to tweet/post/comment without thinking. Lots of knee-jerk reactions.

"Making it easier for a random person on the internet to leave a comment on my video, post, or episode" usually doesn't improve the discourse.

Having friction forces people to consider their words before posting/commenting.

In product design, we associate "more friction = bad," but that's not always true.

One of the things I enjoy about podcasting is that it takes extra effort for a listener to reach out.

That extra effort often results in thoughtful emails, DMs, tweets, etc.

@NathanG I realize that’s the dream, but there are significant trade offs related to creating “more relevant ads for you.”

For me, the most effective ads are when a brand just sponsors a host read ad on a podcast with an audience that makes sense for that product. No crazy tech needed.
