@TheCraigHewitt @daverodenbaugh Churn is a lagging metric.

Usage + outcomes (or lack of) will show you if you'll have a churn problem in 3-6 months.

If you're creating bottlenecks, waiting times, or delays for your customers, they will look for better options.

It's not always about being cheaper (although that can help).

But if a competing product helps people make more progress, they switch.

Many people are hiring Squarespace because they find it cheaper, easier and faster than working with a web designer.

For example, I used to hire plumbers to fix leaky faucets.

But now, I increasingly hire YouTube how-to videos.

Cheaper, faster. #jtbd

The biggest threat to a product (or service) is the customer finding a better way to get the job done.

Quicker, cheaper, easier...

With software, people have usually tried a bunch of stuff.

They've cobbled together spreadsheets or plugins.

They want something better.

People often buy products for the same reason.

They need something fixed in their life or business.

They're looking to hire software, etc.
