@GeoffTRoberts 💯 it's valuable.

Since starting @megamaker in 2013, it's the most requested feature:

"How can I find someone who's good at Rails?"
"How can I get a list of everyone's Twitter handle?"
"How can I see what everyone's working on?"

I used our new @meepsapp directory yesterday!

🤔 Given today's trends, what advice would you give an 18 year-old in 2021?

🏫 Should they go to college?

🏭 Which careers / business categories should they investigate that have strong potential?

🙏 Other personal growth advice?

I'm still skeptical as to whether crowd equity funding is good for investors.

But, I'm willing to spend some money to build a little portfolio and experiment.

In 5-10 years we'll see if these were *investments*, or, merely donations. 😅

@Patticus Is it worth doing though?

With interest rates so low, it doesn’t feel like extra payments on the mortgage are the best use of liquid capital.

@editingemily Marketers are also a missed opportunity for most tech companies.

Many “API-driven” companies are secretly serving more marketers than developers. 🤫

@EspreeDevora Definitely!

I’m curious about your tech stack for We Are LA Tech; what apps/tech/hosting do you use for your site + other community features?

@NathanG But don’t you get good recommendations from Twitter?

Whenever I’ve asked my followers for recommendations (movies, podcasts, whatever) they’ve delivered the goods. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@NathanG Algorithms suck.

I’ll trade AI-generated lists for human recommendations every time.

(Which is one of the reasons I love @podysseyapp: it’s a community of listeners who share their favorite episodes)

@nathanbarry Happy Birthday! 🎉

You inspired me to publish my first indie project.

I'm still learning from you (and following your example) today.

I appreciate the way you've thoughtfully, and generously, lead ConvertKit. 🙏

@adamwathan For me it'd be @TransistorFM. 😅

- Gradual-growth market (not a crazy rocketship)
- Can be run by less than 5 people (ideal team size)
- Good margins (financial, time, energy, maintenance)
- A true calm company (very little drama)
- Very few "lows" (much better than employment)

@mjwhansen It's also put me in a totally different frame of mind when chatting with customers.

Instead of quickly dismissing their problems, or being impatient with them, I'm learning to see them like this:

"understanding that their decisions and actions make sense from their perspective"

@mjwhansen Honestly, just reading your exploration of empathy (as a concept) has given me my money's worth.

"Fortunately, empathy is something anyone can learn."

Understanding that it's not innate, but can be learned. 👍
