@monicalimco @TransistorFM Hey! I just recorded this quick video explaining why this is the case.

tl;dr – in the same way that Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Apple Mail all render HTML differently in the email world 👉 Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, etc all render HTML differently in the podcast world.

@johnspurlock 👀 interesting.

Tortoise initially launched on Transistor. (They eventually jumped to Acast for the ad network/ad sales)

@iChris I wouldn’t worry about it.

There are still going to be podcasters who really want that “human ear” when editing/producing shows.

It might even become a differentiator that separates the mediocre shows from the really compelling ones.

@RaulOnRails It’s hard launching a family and a business at the same time.

They both require so much time, energy, focus.

Personally, I would wait until you have a strong family foundation before you try to build a business.

@JimWHuffman @BenWilsonTweets Not really: largely because of how podcasts are distributed.

It takes a while for all the listening apps to pick up on changes you’ve made to your RSS feed (changed propagate to all the various indexes over 1-2 hours generally).

Most of your listenership occurs from folks who…

@KatLoughrey Haha. Yup.

(And as others have mentioned, when you actually interact with someone in their 20s, there's clearly an age gap!)

@kovyrin Oh, I don't feel like a 25-year-old 'maturity' wise.

It's more of a... "spiritual" in my soul I feel 25. 😄

Practically, when I was 25 (with two kids, a mini van, and a mortgage) I probably felt 40. So now I’m just feeling the reverse!

@ianlandsman I see the upside of AI (I’m using it too!)

But it’s potential to destroy millions of jobs can’t be underestimated.

It’s only empowering until it takes way your economic earning potential.

This will effect white-collar (lawyers, accountants, programmers), and blue collar…

@dr And, it’s even more striking when you consider:

Impressions > Clicks > Leads > Conversion

(Not that I use Twitter only as a marketing channel, but from a funnel perspective it’s a lot of work for very few leads)

@ianlandsman I think it won’t affect you (or me) because we’re owners of small companies. We’ll likely be fine.

But it’s folks who work for massive corporations who should be concerned.

@CasJam It definitely feels more like Telegram (but with threads) than a "Twitter replacement."

It's definitely snappy. Pretty simple right now. The fact that it's iOS only is somewhat limiting.

Tweets, FB posts, TikTok are designed to evoke emotions and reactions from us.

Nuance is boring. Having a genuine, deep, contextual understanding on a topic is difficult (and often, boring).

It’s easier for our brains to reflexively react, than to really ponder a topic.

It’s…
