@unbound @sgeve True. That hack is available as USB patchstick. I haven't done it; I'd rather just convert my files.

@sgeve I use ffmpegx to convert the files; most files are also "steamable" iTunes.

@sgeve For anything you've DLed from torrents, you'll need to convert them; which can be time consuming.

@sgeve Cons: dependent on your local internet connection (which can get bogged down), and you can't "parent control" the movie trailers

@sgeve Pros: Easy to buy and rent movies. Kids tv shows are cheap. Watch video podcasts and Youtube on your TV. Easy for kids to use.

@KathySierra We disconnected our cable and went exclusively to #appletv as well. One of the best "media" choices we ever made.

Kids were up sick all night. I'm feeling queasy. I'm going to work; but I'm going to work from home.
