“Well made” products don’t win.

It’s products that are well made, target a growing market, and are well positioned that win.

Laravel (@taylorotwell’s impressive PHP framework) is growing like crazy right now.

So @adamwathan was perfectly positioned when he launched his Test-Driven Laravel course.

Would it have done as well if it was focused on .NET?

And yes, timing plays a big role in positioning.

The trick is to find a “big enough,” emerging market that’s growing.

BTW - people originally laughed at @nathanbarry’s positioning.

When @nathanbarry initially targeted his email newsletter app at “people who were frustrated with MailChimp” growth was slow.

It wasn’t until he positioned @ConvertKit as “email marketing for professional bloggers” that growth took off.

I see a lot of emails / landing pages that give the reader too many options (2-3 links to click on).

It rarely works.

Focus on *one* thing. What's *one* thing you want to promote?

Rule of One:

"In your emails and landing pages, only have one main call-to-action you want the user to complete."
