Just updated the professional podcast kit: switched out the Cloudlifter for the DBX 286s:

https://transistor.fm/how-to-start-a-podcast/

🎛 I recently made the change myself: much better voice processing. You don't really need the Cloudlifter (as long as your USB audio interface is decent).

@drewhaines3 @RepVernonJones @theblaze Drew: they need to show us the evidence!

You can't bring anyone to court unless you've got evidence.

You can't just allege "something shady" is going on without evidence. (Not random videos from the internet, but actual admissible evidence).

Less rhetoric, more hard facts.

@drewhaines3 @GeoffTRoberts @BeardAboutIt @mubashariqbal A random video from the internet, where the (unidentified) narrator makes a claim about an election worker is not *evidence*.

Trump says we can't trust the media, election workers, election commissioners, the courts, the state legislatures...

But random twitter accounts are ok?

@dvassallo @Mqsley @ggreenwald I’m not certain that Trump matches the classic definition of “fascist.”

But the semantics don’t matter in the sense that he is objectively toxic and inept on multiple fronts.

David Duke also had hundreds of thousands of voters who were also wrong.

It’s ok to point that out.

@dvassallo @Mqsley @ggreenwald Btw - I’m making a big deal of this because I know (and love) people who supported Trump.

Half my family in Ohio voted for him.

But also, my Uncle (who supported Trump, and believed his early lies about the pandemic) recently died from COVID.

@dvassallo @Mqsley @ggreenwald Our role as a rational society is to call out bad actors, and the people who support them.

Obviously, there has to be limits to this (we don’t want “witch hunt hysteria”), but when a truly bad actor shows up, we need to identify them as such (and call out their supporters).

@dvassallo @Mqsley @ggreenwald He is similar to Hitler, in that Hitler used the democratic process to gain power. Millions of people supported him.

Similarly, millions of people are supporting a different kind of tyrant in Trump.

I’m not discounting the value of these people; but millions can be deceived.

@dvassallo @Mqsley @ggreenwald I’m not saying that Trump is “exactly like Hitler.”

But he is objectively bad, on multiple fronts: climate change, science denial, racism (“shit hole countries”), covid response, destroying democratic institutions, amplifying conspiracies, sowing division and mania.

@dvassallo I don’t want to debate semantics.

The whole world is celebrating because the USA just ejected a clearly toxic and dangerous individual from office.

It’s important that we identify him (and label him) as such.

Otherwise, we’re rationalizing his behavior and the harm he’s caused

@dvassallo Daniel, my question is: when can we call a spade a spade?

How bad does an individual leader have to be before we can label them as such?

Through a series of elections, Hitler’s Nazi party rose to power.

How and when should we label a leader as dangerous?

@dvassallo Here’s the challenge for our society then: when an authoritarian presents himself, how do we clearly evaluate that threat, and call people out on it?

How do we not repeat what happened with Mussolini, Putin, etc?

@dvassallo I don’t buy your reasoning, because Trump is plainly incorrigible and incompetent.

(They could have abstained their vote too.)

Look at the contrast between these two.

I'm not a huge Biden fan, but he's light-years more reasonable than Trump.

(Trump voters: how can you stay ignorant while he spouts this shit? How do you rationalize it?)

There's no evidence of widespread voter fraud.
